SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS M1L (make one with left slant): Insert left needle from front to back under the horizontal strand between the last stitch worked on the right needle and the next stitch to be worked on the left needle; knit this stitch through the back loop.K2tog (decrease with right slant): knit 2 togetherSSK (decrease with left slant): slip two stitches knitwise one at a time onto right needle. Insert left needle into the front of the slipped stitches from left to right and knit.

- M1R (make one with right slant):
One Size: Approximately 4" (10 cm) wide x 4" (10 cm) high when stuffed. To create other sizes, use lighter or heavier weight yarn.
- #4 Worsted Weight Yarn: Background color: Approximately 20 yds (19 m) for each ornament. Accent colors: 1 yd (.91 m) will make about 24 Duplicate Stitches. Refer to photos and charts (on pages 3-8 of PDF) for colors used in each ornament
- Boye® Knitting Needles, Size 7 (4.5 mm)
- Tapestry or yarn needle with blunt tip

18 sts x 24 rows = 4" (10 cm) on size US 7 (4.5 mm) needles. Gauge is not critical for this project.
