Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cute outfit, confusing instructions I purchased this to make a dress for my daughter for her first birthday. Unfortunately, I haven't made it very far because the instructions are very confusing when it comes to the back of the garment, and unfortunately, there are no pictures like there are for the front.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Weird Type of Torture This is a cute pattern. However, the instructions are just cruel. Perhaps they were written in Japanese, translated using software to Finnish, and then brought over to English? The problems began with the layout diagrams. There is a piece on the diagram without a number. NO number. Turns out it is a second cutting of Piece 5, but with the way the pieces are laid out, there would be no way to cut it as instructed. I discovered this problem when I got to the end and was short 2 pieces of cut fabric. Thank goodness I never throw away the scraps, so I had enough fabric to get those last bits cut. I persevered through the infamous Step 12, basting the thing so it looked like it just might work, and then finishing that step after the rest of the outfit was assembled. The final results are almost good. There is one edge that is not as polished as I would like, as a result of the chaos of Step 12, but it will not unravel so the young person can wear this. With less experience as a sewer, this pattern would not have been possible. My ability to visualize 180º served me well, but not everyone is born with that. Be nicer– write instructions that make sense! As an aside, now that I have completed this outfit [and why can't we post pictures?], with a tiny modification in the actual pattern pieces, Step 12 would be much better. It would cost a tiny bit more to print the pattern pieces, but the results would be far better. [And I did call the hotline, but it is only open when I am at work. Not the kind of help that I need.]
