Simplicity Pattern 1009 Misses' Fantasy Costumes is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sansa Season 5-6 gown I made dress C.It was challenging not for beginners, If you're planning on making this, I'd suggest being a high advanced beginner, to a low intermediate before picking up this pattern . I found that the directions honestly didn't make a lot of practical sense, and only really used them when it came to sewing the pattern pieces together. Because the directions were so impractical, (for me at least) this gown took a lot longer to make... More time than it should have anyway. I gave it four stars, simply because I thought the pattern itself was really well done. If I were to remake this, (or help someone else make it) I would suggest that you leave the bodice front OPEN, as this makes attaching the very long skirt pieces much easier, and then, once the skirt is fully attached, to sew up the front if you want. I'd also suggest that you measure how long you want the skirts to be before cutting the fabric for the skirts. (I'm 4'11 Ft and they were about four inches too long for me and I ended up cutting off a lot of fabric that could have been left over) If you're brave, I'd also suggest retracing the sleeve pattern, and cutting it into two parts instead of cutting them as one piece. So you have the top, main portion of the sleeve, and then the long triangular point. This also seems to make it more "screen accurate) I'd make a few test sleeves, and see what works best for you. Also the pattern recommends buying five or so buttons... Really, if you're going for Sansa, save your money and only buy two. I hope someone found this long winded review helpful
