Simplicity Pattern 1283 Misses' Unlined Jacket, Knit Top, Pants and Skirt from Mimi G Style is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Cute and the tutorials are great! I bought this a month ago and have made the top, skirt, and am now starting on the pants. It took me so long only because I have been picky about what fabric to use. In regards to the first reviewer saying they could not find the step by step tutorials, they are on YouTube. If you look for the Simplicity Channel or search for Mimi G For Simplicity.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Jacket View D - Fit was too big I bought this pattern with the intention of making the casual knit jacket. I liked how it looks on Mimi, well fitted. I determined my size using the pattern measurements which put me at a 14. I've had the experience with the Big Three pattern makers before where the piece comes out too big or baggy. I wanted it fitted so I made a size down, size 12. The pattern instructions were very good and detailed. I didn't feel that all of the stay-stitching was essential given the knit fabric I was using but I did it anyway. I didn't think it was necessary to cut the lapel in two pieces and sew it at center back. The way it's shown positioned for cutting shows it placed on the fold so I don't see why it wasn't just made to be cut "on the fold" to begin with eliminating bulky seams with interfacing. The reason I gave it a 3 instead of a 5 is because I felt the fit was not what was expected from the pattern photo. The sleeve were very wide and lose. I had to take them in two times. The first time, they were ridiculously wide around the ends and fell over my hands like something that was many sizes too big. I probably took them in at the seams 1-3 inches total. The upper body was too wide as well. With the belt cinched up, the fabric gathers at the back, sides, and front but creates little bags at the sides and makes it look like a robe. I ended up taking the sides in about an inch (I would've taken them in more but the garment was already finished and I wasn't about to try to unpick the knit fabric). I also added a 5" piece of 1/4" elastic to the center back waist to cinch it up so the excess doesn't end up so much at the sides and so I wouldn't have to keep readjusting it while wearing it. However, it still has a ballooning pouch above the waist at the back that I think would look better if it was fitted to the body instead. The pattern back piece has an ever so slight curve but it might as well be straight and also cut on the fold because I think the curve is negligible on the knit fabric. If I made it again, I'd probably have to make it another size down and seriously take in the sleeves anyway as there is not that much difference there in sizes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from video tutorial missing :( I bought this pattern specifically because it had a video tutorial to help me with the product, but there is no video to be found. :(
