Crochet Purse with Round Handle

Crochet this fun Boho purse using 6" round handles from The Crochet Dude® collection of crochet tools and accessories from Boye®.
Skill Level: Easy
St(s) = stitch(es); RS = right side; hdc = half double crochet; ch = chain; sl st = slip stitch; rep = repeat; rnd = round; beg = beginning; WS = wrong side
16" wide at base x 11" tall (without handles)
8 sts x 8 rows = 4" in sc
Sides (make 2)
Row 1 (RS): With Fig, ch 33, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st into next ch, * hdc in next ch, sl st in next ch, rep from * across, turn. (16 hdc, 16 sl st)
Row 2: Ch 1, hdc in first sl st, sl st in next hdc, * hdc in next sl st, sl st in next hdc, rep from * across, turn.
Fasten off Fig.
Row 3: Attach Butterscotch with sl st, ch 2, sl st in next hdc, * hdc in next sl st, sl st in next hdc, rep from * across, turn.
Row 4: Repeat Row 2.
Rows 5-6: With Fig, repeat Rows 3-4.
Rows 7-8: With Butterscotch, repeat Rows 3-4.
Rows 9-24: Repeat Rows 5-8, 4 more times, ending with a Butterscotch row. Place stitch markers at beg and end of Row 18.
Fasten off.
Handles (make 2)
Rnd 1 (WS): With Fig, work 58 sc around purse handle, do not join. Turn, fasten off. Rnd 2 (RS): Join Butterscotch with a sl st to any st of Rnd 1, hdc in next st, *sl st in next st, hdc in next st, rep from * around, do not join. Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
With RS of sides facing together, match up stitch markers and whipstitch down one side, across entire bottom of purse, and up the other side to other set of stitch markers.
Attach a 12" length of Butterscotch yarn to the first st of Row 24, weave yarn in and out of the tops of stitches of entire row. Gently cinch stitches together until top measures 5" across. Secure yarn with a knot.
Use long tail left on handle to sew handle securely to top of purse, being sure that the RS of the handle is facing out. Repeat with other handle.
Weave in all ends.

- The Crochet Dude® hook size P (10mm) from Boye®
- The Crochet Dude® 6" round handle from Boye® 3472108001 – you will need 2 handles to complete this projects
- The Crochet Dude® bent end yarn needle from Boye® 3471001001
- The Crochet Dude® beaded stitch markers from Boye® – you will need 4 stitch markers to complete this project
