Project Runway® Studded Trim Accessories


Add some edge to your look with studded trim from the Project Runway® trim collection by Simplicity. This trim has a heavy-metal look in lightweight plastic that is easy to fashion into jewelry or trim existing accessories.
Trimmed Belt - revamp an old belt into something hip and new
You will need:
- One belt
- Project Runway® 2" wide Plastic Pyramid Chain Trim 1861272 – see instructions for yardage needed
- Hot glue gun
- Glue sticks
Instructions:
- Measure the length of your belt.
- Measure a length of trim 1" longer than the length of your belt
- Hot glue the trim securely to your belt, wrapping the extra 1" around to the back to finish the end.
Elasticized Bracelet – accessorize your wardrobe with this cool punk bracelet
You will need:
- 6" length of Project Runway® 2" wide Plastic Pyramid Chain Trim 1861272
- 8" length of ½" wide elastic
- Scissors
- Matching thread
- Hand sewing needle
Instructions:
- Measure the trim around your wrist so that it wraps slightly more than halfway around your wrist. Trim off excess.
- Cut two pieces of elastic, each measuring approximately 4" long.
- Hand stitch elastic to WRONG side of one end of trim so that the outer long edge of the elastic lines up with one outer long edge of the trim.
- Stitch the other end of the elastic to the WRONG side of the other end of the trim, forming a circular bracelet.
- Repeat Steps 3 and 4 with other piece of elastic so that the long outer edge of the elastic lines up with the remaining long trim edge.
Shoe Trim – give an outdated pair of heels a rockin' new look
You will need:
- Project Runway® 2" wide Plastic Pyramid Chain Trim 1861272 – see instructions for yardage needed
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Glue sticks
Instructions:
- Choose a pair of shoes that have an existing ankle strap – this will give the trim a stable backing.
- Measure the length of the ankle strap and cut a piece of trim the same length. Trim off excess rows of studs to make trim the same or similar width as the ankle strap.
- Hot glue trim directly to ankle strap.
