Double Knit Stockinette Stitch is used for this project. Refer to the directions that came with your loom if you are not sure how to do this stitch.
Cast on 6 pegs for Double Knit Stockinette Stitch. Knit 50 rows or until headband measures 22" (56 cm) or desired length when gently stretched.
Bind Off first and last rows as for Double Knit Stockinette leaving a 12" (30.5 cm) tail on one end.
Thread yarn needle with long tail and sew ends together. Weave in tails.
DIRECTIONS: Pompom Scarf
Cast on 12 pegs for Double Knit Stockinette Stitch leaving a long tail on beginning edge. Double Knit until scarf measures 110" (280 cm) or desired length.
Bind off ending row
With one loop on each peg, move loops from upper row to lower row. Knit off each peg so one loop remains on each lower peg. Cut yarn leaving a 12" (30.5 cm) tail. Thread tail onto yarn needle and draw through remaining loops. Gather tightly and fasten off.
Finish cast on row
Thread beginning tail onto yarn needle and draw through beginning stitches. Remove waste yarn. Gather tightly and fasten off.
Pompoms (make 2)
Wrap yarn around the 4" (10 cm) side of cardboard approximately 30 times. Thread yarn needle with 8" (20.5 cm) piece of yarn. Insert needle between cardboard and yarn wraps at top edge. Tie yarn tightly around all wraps. Cut wraps at opposite edge to form pompom. Shake pompom to distribute yarn evenly. Trim ends as needed.
Securely attach a pompom to each end of scarf. Weave in tails.
